"Your Oil Easy Wrench is a terrific boon to changing an oil filter.  Mine is
an AirWolf mounted on the firewall, and there is no way I could easily get
a socket wrench in that area.  Open ends are too long.  Your wrench,
being precision cut as it is, fits on the filter blindly and it gives me enough
leverage that I can remove the filter by hand.  The explanation of how to
calculate torque when the torque wrench is offset is a valuable insertion
with the wrench.  I like it so much that I bought an extra one for my AI so
he wouldn't say bad things about my airplane when he had to change the
filter."

Thank you Dr. Hiern!  John

"We Started out by using the Oil Easy Wrench on all IO-520 & IO-550 engines
as it is the only tool that we have found that can get between the pressure
pump and the top of the large Champion (48109) oil filter.  Before long, we
were using it to remove the oil filters on almost every piston engine airplane
that we service.   Additionally, the Oil Easy Wrench enables us to remove the
old (usually stuck) filter by hand, eliminating at least 3 other tools.   We use it
on a daily basis.  Thanks for a great product."

"I don't know how many of you change your own oil and oil filter.  On Models
S35 through V35B, it is difficult to remove the filter.  This is where the large
instrument air pump and large Champion filter are used.  I had a letter from
John LaRocco, who has a friend who made a high quality wrench which makes
filter removal easy."

"My airplane is a Cessna R182 (182RG) with a Lyc 0-540-J3CD - 235 HP engine.
In the past, removing and replacing the oil filter was difficult with a rachet and
short socket.  The back end of the wrench hit a wire bundle attached to the
firewall.  It was so bad that a Adell clamp was right at the back of the wrench
that, at times the rachet direction lever would catch and switch as you were
removing the filter, not to mention chaffing the outer sheath on the wires in the
bundle.   Additionally, there was no way to get a torque wrench on the filter for
tightening.   With the Oil Easy Wrench all the problems are gone.  I can even
torque the filter to specs. now."

"Hi, I ordered on of your wrenches about 6 months ago, when it came I put it
in my toolbox, and pretty much forgot about it.  Today we had a customer with
a Seneca II with TSIO 360 Continental engines.  The filter points straight down,
very close to the bottom cowl.  One of the other guys in the shop stopped the
apprentice with a hole saw, trying to get at the filter, and remembered the wrench.
He was so impressed he said it should be issued as standard equipment of this
aircraft.  Thanks for a good idea and excellent product."

Thank you Scott, I appreciate your comments...John

"I spotted your oil filter wrench at a Malibu Mirage Owners and Pilots Association
(MMOPA) maintenance seminar this last weekend.  Boy did it make filter removal/
installation a snap.  I knew right then that I had to have one of these in my toolbox.
On the Continental TSIO 520BE engine using the Champion CH 48109-1 filter there
is only about 1/2" of clearance between the filter nut and the left engine mounted
vacuum filter.  This is a real tight spot, getting a stubby 1" open end wrench onto the
nut is a little tough.  If the filter is al all too tight (which is almost always), rounding
the filter nut or deforming the filter can is a common occurrence.  We have used straps,
oil filter bands, screwdriver driven into the filter and other not so sophisticated methods
to remove a stubborn filter.  A lot of operators install shorter oil filters to get around
this issue.  A shorter filter equates to less filter area, not something I would be willing
to trade off just for the sake of convenience.  I am actually looking forward to my next
oil change now that I know there won't be a wrestling match.  Thanks for a great
product John.
